About Me

Kelly McDonnell is a Cincinnati native freshly relocated to Los Angeles, CA. She currently works at Sony Pictures Entertainment in the motion picture group as a corporate communications executive assistant on the media relations team. Every day, she monitors trade publications and Sony mentions, organizes executive schedules and meetings, and drafts press releases and awards submissions.

Kelly has an extensive background in journalism, covering politics, culture and, predominantly, entertainment. She studied journalism and cinema studies at American University in Washington, D.C. and held positions that fostered her love of writing, researching, and storytelling.

She's held positions as a news editor for lifestyle topics, a podcast editor and producer, and a public relations assistant at the Cannes Film Festival. Her work experience also includes bartending and service working at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL.

Kelly has a love of learning, whether that be why some film was written the way it was or why white rhinos are actually called white rhinos. She loves storytelling and hopes to keep being a part of the wonderful ways communications and the entertainment industries foster and uplift new tales.
